I've been a TrueCrypt user before but since they discontinued it, I tried looking for something new. So yea, I hope I can get a fair comparison from you guys. FileVault 2 was slow at encrypting and decrypting compared to TrueCrypt which is instant.I also read some comments on Hider 2 saying that at some point, their files disappeared.I haven't complained about it although I've read some negative stuff about it, like, using a lot of CPU power (hence my Mac could get significantly faster if encryption/FileVault 2 was turned off) The copy of those files were completely accessible on a Windows machine (they were in a hidden folder). Apparently Hider 2 copies the files to a temp folder while encrypting/decrypting them.Hider 2 requires some time for encrypting and decrypting that is on average about the same time as copying those files.On Windows, select File Export or right-click and select Export. Hold Ctrl/Cmd to select multiple Vault items, or select everything by pressing Ctrl/Cmd + A. So far from using both I noticed the following: In your Vault, select the items you would like to export.
I tried looking for a comparison between FileVault 2 and Hider 2 but I couldn't find any.īasically, are they equally good? Should I prefer one of the other?
